Dan Kenney Composite Squadron

About Us

Aerospace Education

The Aerospace Education Program provides aviation related education and educational activities for members, including formal, graded courses about all aspects of aviation including flight physics, dynamics, history, and application.

Cadet Programs

Civil Air Patrol's first cadet program was started during World War II in 1942 as a way to provide training for future pilots. Since then, the program has flourished, combining aerospace education with leadership and career training.

Emergency Services

Civil Air Patrol covers several emergency services areas. The principal categories include search and rescue missions, disaster relief, humanitarian services, and United States Air Force support. Other services, such as homeland security and actions against drug-trafficking operations, are becoming increasingly important

The Dan Kenney Composite Squadron has been in Flagstaff for over 30 years. Chartered in 1979, the squadron was originally named the Flagstaff Composite Squadron. The squadron changed its name when a long time member Dan Kenney passed away in 1986. Dan Kenney was a very active CAP member and an excellent pilot. He was instrumental in CAP and helped our local squadron gain prominence. Dan Kenney was also honored by the Arizona Wing by adding his name to the Wing's Hall of Honor.
